Privacy Policy

GlizzyScan is built by XYK LLC. We do not sell personal data, serve ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Data that stays on your device

Your food diary, saved meals, goals, profile details, weight entries, and saved meal photos are stored locally on your device. They are not synchronized to a GlizzyScan cloud profile.

Accounts and sign-in

Firebase Authentication creates a private guest identifier when the app starts. If you choose to link Sign in with Apple or Google, Firebase may receive your provider identifier, name, and email address as supplied by that provider. We use this information only to authenticate you, restore access, secure requests, and support account deletion.

AI meal analysis

When you request an AI estimate, the meal description and an optional compressed photo are sent through our authenticated Firebase backend to OpenAI to produce the estimate. Relevant meal context and locale may also be included. GlizzyScan does not save meal photos or descriptions in its cloud database, and OpenAI requests are sent with response storage disabled. Firebase records a per-account daily request count to enforce usage limits.

Subscriptions

Apple processes payment. RevenueCat receives your GlizzyScan account identifier and App Store receipt and purchase history to validate subscriptions, unlock Pro features, prevent fraud, provide support, and produce subscription analytics. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Other services

• Firebase provides authentication, app integrity checks, server functions, database services, and operational security logs.
• Open Food Facts receives searches you explicitly submit for packaged-food information.
• Apple and Google process sign-in only when you choose those options.

Your choices

You can use a guest account, link Apple or Google, restore or manage purchases, and delete your cloud account from Settings. Account deletion removes our Firebase account data and the associated RevenueCat customer record. It does not cancel an Apple subscription; use Manage Subscription in the app for that. Removing the app deletes its locally stored diary and photos from the device.

Retention and security

We retain account identifiers, subscription records, and usage-limit records only as needed to provide and protect the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Requests use encryption in transit, Firebase App Check, authenticated server functions, and server-side secret storage.

Children and health information

GlizzyScan is not directed to children under 13. Nutrition estimates are informational and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
